Microsoft Copilot

Copilot was released on September 26, 2023. Microsoft 365 Copilot for businesses was released on November 1, 2023. Copilot Pro, intended for private users, was released in January 2024. Not all features of Microsoft 365 Copilot have been released yet, but the main features are already in use.

There are three different versions of Copilot: Free Copilot, Copilot Pro, and Microsoft 365 Copilot. Free Copilot and Copilot Pro are aimed for individual users. Microsoft 365 Copilot is aimed for businesses and organizations.

Copilot can be used in a browser, Bing search engine, in an application, or as part of the Windows operating system. Copilot will be installed with the next Windows 11 update.

MS 365 Copilot, aimed at business use, works with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other key Microsoft Office programs.

You can utilize the free Copilot in different ways:

Copilot Pro offers a faster way to create AI-generated images and priority access to GPT-4 and GPT-4 Turbo. Additionally, Pro allows usage in some Microsoft 365 applications. Copilot Pro is for individual users, not businesses.

• Create, edit, and understand texts, sounds, and images with conversational search
• Use Copilot in Word, Excel (preview only), Outlook, PowerPoint, and OneNote to create, edit, and communicate faster
• Create AI images with DALL-E 3 in landscape mode up to 100 times a day using Designer (formerly Bing Image Creator)
• Use add-ons and GPTs

Microsoft 365 Copilot helps you work more efficiently with Microsoft 365 applications. You can ask Copilot anything work-related.

• Microsoft 365 Copilot can create content such as texts, presentations, tables, charts, and code, but its main feature is integration with Microsoft 365 applications and your company's information and data.
• Microsoft 365 Copilot is compatible with third-party applications and adheres to the principles of responsible, secure, and reliable AI.

Microsoft 365 Copilot is an enterprise-level solution that combines the power of large language models (LLMs) with your organization's information. Copilot works with the most common Microsoft 365 applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

Copilot uses a large language model trained on billions of texts from various sources. When you give Copilot a prompt, it tries to create an appropriate response by analyzing its entire database. Copilot produces the response in text form as a chatbot, which allows for asking clarifying questions.

Microsoft 365 Copilot can utilize Microsoft Graph and the data and functions of all Microsoft 365 applications your organization has access to. It can then create information relevant to your organization. Copilot does not use your organization's data to train the language model. It also adheres to your organization's security, privacy, and compliance policies.

Copilot can be used for almost any computer-based work. You can start a conversation with Copilot by writing or speaking to it. You can ask Copilot anything such as facts, information, advice, suggestions, or inspiration. You can also request Copilot to create content like factual texts, stories, code, and much more.
Copilot tries to respond to you as well as it can and helps you do more and better.

With Copilot, you can also utilize Microsoft 365 applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. For example, you can ask Copilot to open, edit, share, or save files, create presentations, send emails or messages, or perform other tasks.

Copilot can also use Microsoft Graph. Microsoft Graph is a programming interface that combines information and functions of Microsoft's cloud services. For example, you can ask Copilot to fetch information, manage user and device permissions, or create content using Microsoft Graph, leveraging your organization's data.

You can manage Copilot's settings in the Copilot application, available for the Windows 11 operating system. For example, you can adjust Copilot's tone of voice, language, and personality. You can also provide feedback to Copilot if you want to improve its performance or suggest new features.

Copilot is available in the Windows 11 operating system and comes as a free update. Using Copilot with the Windows 11 operating system has several advantages compared to the Copilot application. For example:

• You can use Copilot directly from the taskbar or with a shortcut, without opening the Copilot application separately.
• You can use Copilot in all Windows 11 applications, such as file management, settings, Microsoft Store, etc.
• You can enjoy better performance, security, and privacy when using Copilot on the Windows 11 operating system.

Copilot works in Microsoft Office products if you have a Microsoft 365 subscription that supports Copilot. You can use Copilot with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

Copilot works in the following Microsoft Office products if you have a Microsoft 365 subscription that supports Copilot:

• Word: You can create text, summarize, ask questions, and give tasks to Copilot.
• Excel: You can create formulas, tables, charts, and other calculation functions with the help of Copilot.
• PowerPoint: You can create presentations, and add slides, images, and formatting with Copilot.
• Outlook: You can send emails, summarize email threads, get coaching tips, and other communication functions with Copilot.
• Teams: You can launch Copilot in any conversation, summarize the content of the discussion, assign tasks, and other collaborative functions with Copilot.

The difference between Copilot and ChatGTP is that Copilot is an AI assistant developed by Microsoft, which combines a large language model, Microsoft Graph, and Microsoft 365 applications, compared to ChatGTP which is a natural language processing technology developed by OpenAI, which answers questions and engages in conversations through machine learning. Copilot is available for Windows 11, Microsoft 365, the Edge browser, and Bing, while ChatGTP is available as a programming interface that can be integrated into various applications.

Copilot and Bing Chat are not different. Bing Chat was the previous name of Copilot when it was still in beta. Microsoft renamed it to Copilot at the Ignite 2023 event. Bing Chat is now one of the interfaces of Copilot that you can use on the Bing website or mobile application.

Copilot is an excellent product for enhancing work productivity. With Copilot, you can create content and images, design, analyze, or even write code. There are currently three versions of Copilot: Copilot Free, Copilot Pro, and Microsoft 365 Copilot. MS 365 Copilot is for business use.
